A Special Message From Our Grand Knight - Michael Garofolo |
In just 10 years, our Council has grown to over 300 brothers and is very active in most all Parish activities. As a group, we are also the most visible as Brother Knights proudly wear their Marian blue name badges that unite us in purpose and dedication to service of our church. Brother Knights are active as Ushers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Choir members, CYO leaders and coaches, and CCD Catechists. We continue to ensure safe transportation to Mass each week for our elderly parishioners. We also assist those in our community with mental disabilities through our KOVAR campaign and manpower support of Virginia Special Olympics. This year we will be starting a Squire Roses Circle for the young ladies of our Parish ages 10 - 18.
We will again host the monthly Parish Pancake breakfast that occurs on the 3rd Sunday of each month after all masses. We will continue with the St. Patrick's Day Party. The council leads the monthly Parish Food Drive on the 1st Sunday of the month. We also organize, with INOVA Health Services, the Parish Blood Drive that occurs every other month.
In addition to service, we also enjoy social events such as our End of Summer BBQ, Oktoberfest, Christmas tree sales, our Super Bowl Party, Go-Kart racing, Knights Day at Nationals Park, and Family Night with the Washington Capitals.
Our Council Business Meeting is the 1st Tuesday of the month in the St. Thomas More meeting room in the Parish Center at 7:30 PM. The recitation of the Rosary precedes the Business meeting at 7:05 PM. If you want to ADD to the energy that is our Council, and learn more about the Knights of Columbus, please contact us today!
