Welcome to the Knights of Columbus -
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Family fraternal service organization. The organization was originally founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney and today numbers over 1.8 million members. |
Our Lady of Hope Council was chartered in October 2000 shortly after our founding by Bishop Paul Loverde and was named in honor of our new parish. Our Lady of Hope Council works closely with our pastor Father Saunders in support of the Parish by providing program logistics and funding to numerous projects in the Parish and surrounding Potomac Falls community.
INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL SERVICE AWARD WINNER 2008-09 FRATERNAL YEAR
At the 2009 Supreme Convention in Phoenix, Arizona, Our Lady of Hope Council was recognized with the International Council Service Award of Excellence for the council's McGivney Visionary Program (MVP) Fund. Our program was chosen as being the Best from over 13,000 council submissions Worldwide!
Our program is designed to assist brothers in need of employment through spiritual support, resume networking, and if needed, financial assistance. The program was developed through the diligent efforts of the Trustees and implemented and maintained by the Grand Knight and Deputy Grand Knight. Most importantly, it is supported by the brothers of the council both through networking leads and financial contributions to the reserve fund. Our program is true to the spirit of what Fr. McGivney sought as Brother-to-Brother outreach.
Congratulations to the Council on this very special honor!
